With the Internet information era, do you want your children to learn how to design and create their own websites? The students will get the goals by learning the basic knowledge of websites design and development:
Learning goals:
• To have a better understanding of basic programming, to learn the basic principles of developing
• To understanding the web development;
• To understand and use HTML, CSS to create website pages;
•To add text, images, audio, video to websites;
• To add JavaScript to a website and be able to use logic loops and conditions in JavaScript to craft a website;
• To create your own websites;.
Learning Content:
• Website Basics - what is a website and how it works;
• Overview of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Structure of HTML - The four basic tags in HTML
• Heading tags <h1> to <h6>, <p>, <hr> <br> tags
• HTML using Notepad (Windows) / TextEdit (Mac)
• HTML using an online editor (CodePen.io or Repl.it) or offline software
• HTML formatting tags: <b>, <strong>, <em>, <sub>, <sup>, etc.
• Basics: elements/tags/attributes
Course Requirements and Arrangements:
1. The students have finished intermediate computing and programming courses and are over 10 years old;
2. The ten lessons are given in the classroom with 1.5 hours of each time;
3. Classroom location: CMCC灵修中心 (McCowan and 14th Streets);
4. Class fee: $50 for registration, $150 for courses;
5. Classes will start in September: Saturday or Sunday - to be determined.
